issue1

We're in LA and it's literally hell. Wolfram & Hart has sent LA to hell and Angel's still doing what we've always seen him doing. Fighting demons - fighting the good fight. Though this time he's got backup, in the form of a great big giant dragon. He helps out some humans, who were in trouble with some demons. They're ex Wolfram & Hart employees. He gives them an address and tells them to head to that location.

The more powerful demons and creatures have taken over well known districts in LA. Angel returns back to the Wolfram & Hart offices and is greeted by Burge, lord of downtown LA, and his son. Apparently Angel's killed some demons he shouldn't have and Burge's son hasn't taken too kindly to it, as they were his men. In the doorway Wesley appears.

Wesley talks the situation down and gets Burge and his demon cohorts to leave, though first Burge's son tries to take some of his anger out on Wesley, only to have his fist go straight through him. Wesley's a ghost. Angel informs Wesley of the humans he found and where he sent them to - Santa Monica, where he's sending them all,

The humans who Angel saved enter a building which looks like it used to be a hotel. Immediately they're greeted with a group of people and demons who don't look too happy. Electricity shoots around them. A young man appears and identifies the two ladies as Nina and Gwen. He introduces himself too - it's Connor.

At Wolfram & Hart Angel's still keen to take out Burge and his son's men, even though it's not something he should be doing, especially seeing as he hasn't healed too well from their last encounter. None the less he goes out. In Westwood another demon who's taken over the district is trying to get a group of humans to play gladiator, but also using another demon fish to control the humans minds into wanting to fight. The demon horde is suddenly broken up and the humans are saved. It's Gunn and his men.

Burge's son is about the take out 6 humans, in return for Angel killing six of his men. Angel's watching and can't resist breaking it up. He takes out Burge's son and declares war. We flash back to Gunn who's not all he used to be - he's now a vampire.

Issue #2

Angel heads to Santa Monica, leaving Wesley behind at the offices. Angel's there to warn Connor about what he's done - killing Burge's son and inviting an all out war on him and anyone around him. Though Connor seems to be able to handle himself perfectly fine. Angel and Connor fight a throng of demons together while Angel fills him in on some details. Gwen fights alongside Angel and Connor and tells them that there's a new player in town.

Gunn's captured the fish demon who can inlfuence people's thoughts. The demon's name is George. Gunn's convinced he's on the side of good, even though he's a vampire. He seems hell bent on taking down the vampire he did trust - Angel. Gunn seems to have some kind of artefact which has brought a horde of demons to their knees, for him, to fight Angel and kill Angel.

Angel, Connor and Gwen find the remains of the demons that Gunn and his crew slaughtered. Gwen figures out it was vampires. Angel tells Connor to get out of their and to find his dragon. Angel's got his own agenda; he knows who was behind this and heads off to find him.

We're at the Playboy mansion and there seems to be a new playboy in charge. It's Spike. Soon Angel arrives and the two vampires fight. There were inscriptions on the walls of the arena where the demons were slaughtered. Inscriptions in Sanskrit, and there's only one person it could have been if that's the case - Illyria.

Issue #3

Angel and Illyria fight. In amongst the fighting Illyria's time shifting ability kicks in and the time shifts on some occassions, which doesn't help Angel in the fight. The fight doesn't go in Angel's favour and he finds himself pinned to the wall. Time shifts again and Angel turns into the puppet and then a baby. Spike appears to stop the fight. Spike forces Illyria to let Angel go; she seems hellbent on tearing him apart.

Thankfully Angel gets some backup from his dragon, who bursts through the walls, giving Angel a rest from Illyria. Spike frees Angel and Illyria and the dragon duke it out. Then Angel gets a surprise. All of what Spike appeared to be wasn't. Spike and Illyria were working with Connor. It was all a show for the other demon hordes. Spike's been helping Connor on the rounds and has been taking people in, on his behalf. Angel leaves, a little dejected.

Angel's convinced that there's someone else out there who's playing him, forcing him to play their game. He wants to change the game. Angel meets with the Lords of LA and gives them an ultimatum. He wants to take all of them on and take all of their domains. He's given two days to get himself and whoever else, together to fight the demons from all the domains of LA.

However it's not all good. It would have been perfectly okay for Angel to set this challenge up, had he still been a vampire...

Issue #4

We flashback to just after the fight started, back in the alley and Gunn's missing, and when Angel first sees Wesley as a ghost. Back to the present Wesley tries to talk Angel out of the big fight he's got planned against all of the demon lords. But Angel doesn't want to hear it. He's been made human by whoever just because Wolfram & Hart knew that that was the one thing he really needs at the moment

Suddenly two ethereal looking women appear out of nowhere. They're there for Angel. Angel and Wesley leave with the two women as Gunn looks on. Back at Spike's mansion, Spike gets a visit from one of the demon lords who wants Illyria to fight on their behalf and hands Spike a weapon. He's been given a Hagun Shaft - it's designed to kill an immortal and is given to Spike so he can kill Angel.

Though Spike's reluctant to go out on a limb and work against Angel in order for the greater good. Meanwhile Wesley and Angel have made it to their destination, driven by the two women - they're in Silver Lake. Silver Lake being the part of LA where the demon lord is none other than Lorne. Lorne's still looking over Angel in the one way he knows how. And he has a surprise for him - Groosalugg.

Back at Wolfram & Hart Gunn and his vampire group are putting their plan into action. But first he takes a picture of him, Angel, Wesley, Fred, Cordelia and Connor from the building, which he then blows up. As this happens, right in front of Lorne's eyes, Wesley disappears.
