The Issues: A Beautiful Sunset
Issue #11: A Beautiful Sunset
Buffy watches footage of some recent slayer action - a group of slayers stealing guns and ammo. Buffy feels she's to blame for this. Thankfully the leader of the bunch has been sent to Italy for Andrew to deal with. But it doesn't make Buffy feel any better. Buffy feels that it's her fault, that had she not done the initial heist that she did they wouldn't be in the situation they're in now with rebel slayers.
In the castle Xander's arranged for the slayers to have a party, to lighten the mood. Even Dawn's getting to have some fun. Buffy has a mission of her own, to take down a vampire, and she takes one slayer with her - Satsu. Buffy picked Satsu for a reason, not just because she's a brilliant fighter, but she has figured out that she's in love with her. While Buffy and Satsu fight off a group of vampires Buffy tries to tell Satsu why it's a bad idea to be in love with her. It's bad because people in love with Buffy tend to die.
Suddenly Buffy's attacked, not by a vampire but by Twilight himself. He takes Buffy for a ride into the clouds. Twilight explains that the old world can't contain the new world, the world in which all potential slayers are slayers. He wants to balance things back out. They fight, but he doesn't kill Buffy. Twilight reports back to his people, he does have a plan.
At slayer central Satsu's in the medical area healing from her wounds. Buffy and Xander talk about this super powered "spokesperson" that the bad guys have. Buffy's not looking to positively about things to come but Xander tries to point out the good that she's done. But she just can't feel it.
