Issue #1: Long Way Home Part 1

We're introduced to the new world, post-Chosen. There are now eighteen hundred slayers in the world, that Buffy Summers know of. She's now the leader of an elite supernatural fighting squad, comprised of the slayers in the world and other supernaturally talented people. Xander is the leader of this new organisation; running all of the operations running worldwide. The scooby gang, as they once were, still exists. With Willow forming part of the team, as well as Giles and Andrew.

Buffy leads a team of international slayers into a church where they fight, and defeat, two green and rather large monsters. In the church were, who they thought, were hostages, but they actually seem to be people who purposefully locked themselves in there with the creatures. A mysterious symbol is found on the dead humans who were within the building; research on it has begun, as it once did, but on a somewhat larger scale.

Meanwhile Buffy's attention grabbing effect of blowing up the whole of Sunnydale has got the attention of the US government who are actively seeking them out. In the charred and cratered remains of Sunnydale they find a girl who seems willing to help them find Buffy. It's Amy.

Issue #2: The Long Way Home Part 2

Slayers across the world are being trained; Giles, Buffy and even Andrew's lending a hand. Meanwhile back in Glasgow at the base Xander's trying to have a heart to heart with Dawn to try and understand how she got the way she is.

Somewhere in the desert there's a base - Drextalcopr Recycling Technologies. But it looks like more than just "recycling" goes on there. The government's military seem to be involved. Two men (one military the other a "suit") is talking about taking the slayer out using Amy and her boyfriend. The military man has a strange mark on his chest.

Back at slayer central Buffy's having a somewhat crazy dream. A dream that's been brought on by Amy! Xander and some slayers try and get the upper hand but Amy's work has been done. Buffy's in a permanent sleep and can only be awoken by her true love. Meanwhile outside there's a hoard of zombies climbing the walls.

In Buffy's dream it looks like there's someone ther to help her. Back in the real world the slayers are in a fight for their lives against the zombies and Amy appears to be getting a fight of her own; with Willow.

Issue #3: The Long Way Home Part 3

Buffy's trapped in a dreamspace, trapped by Amy. And the help that she appears to be getting in there is Ethan Rayne. Outside Willow's fighting for her own life, and the slayers, with Amy. But it appears everything that Amy's been doing has been a distraction. Thankfully another Summers girl, in giant form, arrived in time to help Willow and lock up Amy, so to speak.

In Buffy's dreamspace Ethan reveals that it has been Amy who's been doing what she has to Buffy. Ethan shows Buffy some symbols - 3 X's. She doesn't know what it means. Though that's it for Buffy's dream time. Xander steps up to the plate to kiss Buffy back to the waking, and it works. Elsewhere Giles seems to be trying to come to an agreement with a big, ugly demon.

At slayer central Amy's being kept magically locked up in their cellar. Buffy and Willow catch up; it's been a while since they've seen one another. They crack on with getting to Amy and trying to see what she's up to and where she's been. Only it's a trap. A portal opens and Willow's dragged through. Buffy can't follow. Willow's tied to an operating table, Amy's there as is a skinless Warren.

Issue #4: The Long Way Home Part 4

Willow's being totured. Tortured by the same man who she once tortured and then flayed alive. But he's not quite dead. At slayer central Dawn's having a hard time dealing with the loss of Willow, and it seems she can't connect with her sister anymore to deal with her pain. Back to the case at hand, Buffy's getting her slayers together to launch an attack, once the witches have found their way into the portal which Amy opened. Buffy chooses a slayer called Satsu to go with her to rescue Willow.

Willow's managed to find a place for her to rest up, mentally anyway, to get away from the torture. The rescue attempt is underway. The portal's open and Buffy and Satsu step through doing as much damage to the military on the other side as they can. They get close to where Willow's being kept and Amy stands in the way. But Buffy's able to get past her with a little bit of Willow that's inside her. Buffy and Satsu get to Willow, but Amy's already hatched another portal through which her and Warren escape. Now Willow, Satsu and Buffy need to find a way out of the base they're in.

They go through a doorway and find a dead Ethan Rayne. In the room is one of the military men with the mark on his chest. His "kind" are out there to get rid of the slayers, all of them before they upset the balance.
