Over the past few weeks, maybe months, I’ve been thinking about the future of DTD. Thinking hard. Thinking long and hard. Thinking which has led me to a decision that I’ve been teetering on the edge of for a very long time.

That decision being *drumroll please* …. Closing Dusk ’til Dawn down.

Shocking? Maybe not as shocking as the news could be. The updates, reviews and general entries from me have dwindled in recent days. Since I ported this site to a new content management system I’ve never really been able to import all the old content, and for that I feel incredibly guilty for any visitors who’ve come here.

It’s been a fairly known fact that I’ve not loved Dollhouse. And what’s probably less known is my admiration of Joss Whedon slowly diminishing. Slowly I might add, he’s still very highly regarded with me! These factors coupled with a lack of time has led me to the decision of closing DTD down.

I opened this site back in 2000. We’d got through the millenium, bug-less, and it was all about the internet. This site has been going for a decade! Putting that into words has shocked me actually! This site has been around for longer than the likes of flickr and Facebook! Well, maybe it didn’t lift off quite as well, but its had its hay day, and it was a good hay day.

I’ve really enjoyed running the site. I’ve met a fair few people who I’ve got into contact with through this site and made some really good friends from the UK and over the pond. It’s been a lot of fun and I wouldn’t be a web designer right now had I not started this site when I was 15.

So goodbye DTD and thank you to all of you who’ve visited DTD and have left me nice comments on the site, forum, old guestbooks, emails, wherever. Had it not been for you guys, I probably would have taken the site down years ago.

I will be keeping the Twitter site alive, but it may undergo a name change. The forums, however, will be going.

I won’t be disappearing from the Internet completely either. You can find me on my own Twitter account and I’m blogging on and off at an old domain of mine – Time Well Spent. I also co-own Jonathan-Woodward.com. There’s also my flickr site where I post all of my photos, including those of any conventions and signing events I will inevitable still going to. So there’s plenty of places that I’ll still be around.

A big thank you to all the visitors, contributors and friends I’ve made over the years here, you’ve made the site worth running and it wouldn’t have lasted as long without your help. 2000 – 2010, it’s been fun guys and hope to see you around somewhere, some other time!

From now on you’ll find all the usual fandom heavy news links I find updated on DTD’s Twitter. I’ve been doing this for most of the week, and think I’m updating more news items now!

So if you want the usual updates I used to do here, follow DTD’s Twitter. This site here will now be reserved for views, reviews, opinions and any fandom related blurting out I feel the need to do.

DTD’s TV Fandom Photos

As before, if you’ve been to a convention, signing event, or anything TV related and took some good photos of the cast or crew, feel free to join and add your photos.

I’ve tried to get the ball rolling with some of the photos I have and will carry on adding them. They’ll appear on the sidebar on the site.

Tell your friends and family. Or perhaps not. Just join yourself if you have photos and want to share them with more people.

I have however managed to get a thread up for discussing tonight’s Dollhouse at the forum. Discuss Dollhouse’s new episode, Haunted, here at the forums.

But other than that I don’t think there’s much more for me to say other than good bye! I’m off for the *deep breathe* Chuck/Sarah Connor/Dollhouse/Dr. Horrible convention up in Birmingham and will be leaving very very soon. Just waiting for my good friend from Destiny Thing to come along and then we’re off.

PS. I won’t be able to update DTD’s Twitter but you will be able to catch me may be manically updating my own personal Twitter – steamsmyclams. If anything remotely breathe taking happens it’ll be on there.

I’ve noticed that a lot of people, mostly, use this site for the actual content. So that’s the episode guides (which I still have to rebuild *cough*) and the rest of the content. There’s not too much activity on the reviews and things I post, but that could be down to the fact that you don’t need to click to read them! And also I need to have somewhere to vent about Dollhouse and rave about everything else.

I’ve thrown this question out to all those who follow me here on my Twitter so I’m throwing this out here and hoping for some replies!

What do you want to see here

It’s a very open question, but it’s something I would like to know as someone who wants to keep this website running. I don’t think I could ever close it down.

So this could be anything from more opinions, features, reviews to little things like more polls and interactivity. As soon as I get a response, any response, I’ll get to work!

What I’m referring to is running a website on your own. It’s problematic in the sense that when I’m ill or off on holiday there’s no one here to pick up the slack!

Which is exactly where I’ve been the last few days. No, not holiday – I wish. But I’ve been ill, in bed. Not anymore though. At work beavering away at, erm, work of course.

Sorry there hasn’t been any news from me, has it been quiet? Nothing revelatingly (that’s a word, of course) new, like Dollhouse has an entire season or that they’ve recast Echo with Neil Patrick Harris? Good. Then things will hopefully get back on course from today.

Of course with my not being at my station Rewatching the Jossverse has been put slightly off schedule. There’s only three more episodes, Go Fish, Becoming Part I and Part II, left in season 2 so those will be the episodes to watch from next Sunday.

My review for Stage Fright has been delayed, but I’ll see if I can remember something to write up for that soon. Though I have managed to get the screencaps for Stage Fright up at the gallery and the episode discussion thread for Stage Fright is up at the forums for your thoughts.

Now, back to your normally scheduled … website?

Though I’m hoping having this all new and shiny right now will spur me on somewhat to get the rest of the site organised.

Along with the new look the daily news is going to be changing. I’ll do one post once a day with some links to the news that I find and then I’ll also be doing episode reviews of new TV, including the upcoming Dollhouse and everything else I watch. And then some other random pieces of writing I may just have sudden urges to write here. Don’t worry, it will be fandom related!

So with that, I’ll let you have a look round and see how much is broken.
