Melaka Fray
Melaka Fray is a young woman who, before she met a demon called Urkonn, was a career thief. She has extraordinary skills which she uses to get various types of items for her main employer, Gunther. It's the only way of life she knows and the one that can get her through her day to day life. She lives in Versi, a slum of Manhattan and one of her best friends there is a young girl called Loo who's one of Fray's biggest fans, even if her parents aren't.
Upon meeting a demon called Urkonn Fray's told of her destiny; her past and future. Urkonn tells Fray that she's a slayer, a warrior against the forces of evil. At first Fray's reluctant to believe him but she gets convinced. Her physical strengths are attributes of her slayer line. However it's a bit more complicated for Fray as she has a twin brother, Harth. Fray had thought Harth died many years ago when the two were young, but it wasn't so. Harth, being one half of the twin set, has all of the memories and dreams a slayer has. He knew to how to turn himself, so not to die at the hands of a vampire.
Harth's not the only sibling of Fray. She also has a sister called Erin who's constantly on Fray's back as she works in law enforcement, and part of Erin has never forgiven her for losing Harth.
Urkonn
Urkonn is a large, red and horned demon. A few times the size of Fray, he was sent to Fray to train her for the impending doom. Not much is known about him. He's not a fan of water and he has incredible strength. He trained Fray once he revealed her slayer lineage. However Urkonn's life was short lived, as once Fray found out he killed Loo, Fray had to end his life.
Harth Fray
Harth is Fray's identical twin brother. He's older than Fray by about twenty minutes. When the two were young Fray used to go on grabs, stealing what she could and Harth tagged along. One fateful day Harth and Fray came across a lurk on their rooftop jaunt. A lurk called Icarus. Fray tried to fight him off but got thrown off the roof, which is when Icarus tried to feed on Harth. However Harth, being part slayer and having slayer dreams, knew to survive he had to get himself turned - feed on Icarus. He did just that and became one of the most powerful vampires known.
Harth wanted to bring hell back to Earth and he was well on his way to doing that, until Fray got in the way. Fray wasn't able to kill him, so he's still out there, somewhere.
Erin Fray
Erin Fray is Melaka's sister, older sister. They aren't very close as siblings since Harth's death. Erin works in law enforcement and due to the nature of Fray's job, Erin is continuously on Fray's back. The two couldn't be further apart as sisters. However once Fray learns of her lineage and all hell starts to break loose Erin believes her and the two get closer.
Loo
Loo is a young girl with some disabilities. She only has one arm and is blind in one eye. She's the youngest of Fray's friends and her biggest fan. Loo looks up to Fray like a big sister and Fray in turn looks after little Loo. Loo's parents are Amma and Jove who run the local bar in Versi, the slum in which they live in.
Gunther
Gunther is Fray's boss; the one she does all the grabbing for. However Gunther's not a complete human. He's a mutated fish-guy living in a fish tank in his offices. Fray gets paid by him to pull off certain grabs and she gets a cut of what he gets paid.
