The Issues
Here you'll find some more details descriptions of each of the issues of Fray.

Issue 1: Big City Girl
We're introduced to Fray; a young woman living in the slums of a future Manhattan. Her job is as a thief, she does what she can to survive in the world. Though the world's now a different place with mutated creatures being the norm and a strange race of things which stick to the shadows and kill many people. Fray's sister - Erin, is a law enforcement officer who's constantly on Fray's back for her less than legal career.
A strange man approaches Fray one day telling her she is the chosen one and as quickly as he appears he lights himself on fire and is gone. On her way home, thinking about her recent ordeal, she encounters something in her apartment: a big honking red demon with horns!

Issue 2: The Calling
Fray and the demon fight, but it turns out the demon's not after Fray to kill her, rather he wants to train her to kill the vampires. Elsewhere some vampiric looking creatures look like they're up to something, planning something. Back to Fray and the demon, who's called Urkonn. Urkonn explains Fray the story, the slayer story and the mythology involved in it. However Fray's not entirely convinced.
Fray gets a call in for another job, she leaves Urkonn to get on with her real job. On her job she encounters these vampiric lurks and manages to fight off a group of them. It's enough to convince Fray to ask Urkonn a bit more about her slayer lineage.

Issue 3: Ready, Steady ...
Fray continues to get dreams about her twin brother who died a few years ago when they were kids out playing on the roof tops. She's rudely interrupted by Urkonn who wants to start her training. Urkonn explains and recounts the slayer history, right to the present day.
Elsewhere the vampire known as Icarus is talking to his master about his plans; it appears they're moving faster than expected. Back in the slums Fray is doing her usual thing and training at the same time; picking fights in her local bar. Though she sees someone from the past ... Icarus.

Issue 4: Out of the Past
Icarus was there when her twin brother, Harth was killed. She fought him back then and her losing the fight ended up getting Harth killed. The result of this fight went a little differently with Urkonn there to back her up. As Fray tries to recover from her latest fight with Icarus Urkonn speaks to a few other demons who are urging him on to get Fray trained up as soon as possible.
Fray goes on a mission to find out who ratted her out but her sister, Erin gets involved. Lurks turn up too and a massive brawl breaks out. A brawl in which Fray is knocked unconscious. When she wakes up she's faced with her dead twin brother, Harth.

Issue 5: The Worst of It
Turns out that day on the rooftops Harth wasn't killed but instead he was turned into a vampire, a lurk. But not any old vampire, but being part slayer he knows what he is, and what Fray is. He possesses the dreams that Fray should have as a slayer. She got the physicality of being a slayer and Harth got the dreams. Harth begins to throw Fray around and throws her right through the walls of his underground lair.
Fray makes her way to her sister's place where she tells Erin everything. Erin doesn't quite know what to believe but lets Fray get on with it. When Fray returns home she finds the body of a young girl who she was very close with. It sparks her to start the war with the lurks.

Issue 6: Alarums
Fray tries to get herself an army together to help her fight the lurks. However convincing people is a little harder than she expected. Meanwhile her brother Harth is doing the exact same thing, but he already has his army. His grand plan is to bring hell back to Earth. Fray is waging her war on the lurks the only way she knows she can; fighting.
Reports are coming into to Erin on Fray saying she's lost it and they have to bring her down. Fray finally manages to convince the people in her slum that the lurks are real, they're not people, they're monsters. They're getting ready for the war.

Issue 7: The Gateway
Harth's plans are coming together, he's awakening something ... Meanwhile Fray's about to face-off with Icarus, but her sister drops in. Literally, on top of Icarus. He appears to be dead. Harth's opening the gateway, thousands upon thousands of lurks are heading towards Fray's location. War is here. Erin's managed to pull in some favours and along with the little army that Fray managed to get together, Fray has the police force on her side too.
The war is here and everyone's fighting for their lives when all of a sudden a great huge big demon rides in, with Harth sitting on it. It's the gateway. When Fray tries to get to Harth the gateway swallows her whole.

Issue 8: All Hell
While Fray fights for her life on the inside of this beast, everyone else is fighting hard on the outside. Against all the lurks, against everything. Fray manages to bring down the beast and get alive. Harth can do nothing but run. Still alive out there, somewhere. Meanwhile Fray needs to find out who ratted her out and who killed her little friend. It was Urkonn, her trainer, the demon who brought her destiny to her. She has no choice but to kill him.
The demons who sent Urkonn to Fray are unhappy that Fray still lives and need to keep an eye on her. Meanwhile Fray goes back to her day job with a destiny to back her up.
